Default Anyone ever feel they overpayed?

I'm just browsing over autotrader, and the pca classifieds, and I'm seeing dirt cheap 944's all over. There's even an S2 going for just a few grand over what I paid for the n/a

Now I feel bad

As long as stuff doesnt start falling off and hoses explode everywhere then believe me man, you got a good deal.

Also you could make that the most kickass N/a ever. Muhahahah!

Buyers remorse and hindsight is always 20/20. Once I buy I quit looking 'cause I always find a better deal.

That's a good call.

Maybe I should just go for a drive, and that oughta reaffirm things for me.

When I bought my 87 N/A I wondered if I overpaid myself. I picked up a fairly clean car for $3500. but in hindsight A co-worker of mine loved my car so much he bought an 88 N/A also and got it for the same price, but mine is much cleaner than his. So in the end I feel I got a really good deal.

Really the definition of a good deal is where both people are happy at that time.

Even though I've had my 16v for 2 years I'm still nervous about the cost of a trashed head compared to an 8v. Take that into consideration and had you gotten an S2 or turbo you wouldn't have anything to move up to.

Another thing that I learned a long time ago is don't play with what you can't afford. I almost lost my mind one summer that someone let me ride their motorcycle, so no turbo drives for me 'til I can afford one.

How long ago did you buy your NA?

Don't forget that with all the boxsters flooding the market, the price is dropping no almost every older Porsche model. You can get decent 986s now for what the 968s were selling for a couple of years ago.

I hope you never buy a new car because every time you check, you will have lost a few thousand more.

i think i might have. paid 9K for my 87 turbo. it was one of those perfect interior, and very good origional exterior examples. it really is a nice car... it needs some paint work right now though (buff, detail, clay bar and such)

I probably overpaid for mine, but when I found it, I was tired of looking and bought it anyway. It wouldn't have been a bad deal (interior nearly flawless) until I discovered some of the "quick fixes" used by a PO when I did my t-belt, waterpump, and reseal. Oh well, I'd never sell it for another one because after wrenching on it for the past year and a half, at least I know everything that needs fixing on mine...no more surprises (I hope).

i paid 3900 for my 89 n/a...it was a good deal in my opinion considering the interior was perfect (except for the usual kinda dirty white linen carpet on top of me needing a new clutch a month and a half later)...and the exterior had just had a 2500 paint job a year and a half before..but hey im happy...it's all about your opinion regarding the car itself...as long as you're happy with it, no one else's opinion matters...and regarding the n/a motor, there's a lot of satisfaction about tuning it and getting power out of it compared to the 944 turbo motor
