Exclamation Headlights not going down all the way

Since my monkeying around with the installation of new headlights, my headlights do not close all the way. They are approximately 2 centimeters away from closing completely. Does anyone know how to adjust the headlights so they will go down a bit more?

What did you monkey with? You may have an obstruction that is hanging them up so check all clearances around the buckets and the crossmember bar.

My S has an airbox that can become an obstruction if not installed just right.

+1 for looking for obstructions. Just to add: if the windshield washer squirty-motor-thingy comes off of the bottle, it will get in the way.

What I mean by monkeying/possibly creating dissaray, I was moving the headlights up and down via the manual crank while the battery was unplugged. Will that effect the way the headlights close? It seemed like after that, the lights were not closing all the way.

generally i think they return to the normal position after something like that. i dont think it would hurt to try it with the manual crank to reset them to the standard position.

Did you remove the nut from the headlight motor? If so it may need to be reset at the bottom most detent.

mine did the same thing. Make sure the plastic buckets on the front of the light fixture were put on correctly. Look at the trim - it's difficult to get it exaclty in place, but you must have it on perfectly for the light to close down properly. You can see one piece has a little lip that fits over the other piece.
