Okay...as I said earlier replacing the O2 sensor fixed a niggling cold running problem I've had for a while. It has also brought my highway mileage up over 30 mpg again! Cool.

But here is the really weird thing. I noticed that my gas gauge has suddenly gotten more accurate...and my oil pressure gauge now reads a tad over 4 bar running and a tad over 3 at idle. It used to be 3 and 2 respectively!!

Okay oh pundits of 944 wiring...what the heck happened??? Could the new O2 sensor have corrected some grounding issue for the gauges? I do have the Iceshark supplemental ground strap on the car...so it can't be an issue with engine to chassis grounding.

This is frwilk's universal oxygen sensor replacement page

I just installed a new sensor, job difficulty is based entirely on the effort required to remove the old sensor (they can get pretty frozen up).

Only difference between the BOSCH 13913 and 13953 is wire length, you pay about $5 for 8" extra inches of wire (double length). I didn't ask for the 15725/6 from Autozone to compare prices with Paragon, and the 13919 I bought was $40 or less. Just crimped/shrink wrapped it with my own supplies.
