Don't worry...this doesn't count for the people that originally pulled the tranny from the parts car...we're just disapointed.

Hey guys. Who wants to buy a hood? Ill sell it for 20 dollars. Only a few minor dents (some would consider it was mangled).

Man, where did you get the name "Rock"? Is it from whats inside your head? Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that driving any vehicle without latching the hood ends with this result. Why do you think there's a safty latch? I'd be too embrrassed to brag about a bone-head stunt like this. This only reinforces the fact that this 'List is being taken over by young kids who buy 944's because they are relatively inexpensive, think its 'cool' to impress their girl friends that they drive a Porsche, and don't have enough brains to change a sparkplug. And then there was the lister yesterday that is DIY a head gasket fix, and was worried when there was coolant between the cylinders! Jeeze, can't wait to read what happens when he attempts to time it, that is if he even knows what this is! Maybe we need a catagory like '924/944/951/968/Idots' where these guys can go, but, please, just go.

We were all idiots once..... Like what kind of fool would try to shove a 350 in a 944..... Maybe we should have a mullet forum as well as a 924/944/951/968/Idiots' forum just to touch on all the bases.

So give Rock a break. He does try hard and we all hope he is a fast learner.

Yeah, I don't think anyone would give rock the brilliant 944 owner of the year award.

These stories are kind of like what just happened to me. I think the porsche gods are out for some vengance lately....

I fixed my ball joint that had been knocking for over a month last wednesday.. Took it for a test drive. 30 seconds in (just figured out the clunk was gone) both exhaust studs snap off flush with the head on one cylinder. Now my car has been up on jack stands since thursday, entire exhaust is out. Waiting for stupid cylinder to manifold gaskets because NOONE local like dealers have those.

Maybe its just car gods in general.

My 87 range rover. Did my first big car job. took me about 4-5 months of weekend working to do its fricken huge *** tranny. Drove it for a month. Engine just randomly decided that 250k or so was where it wanted to call it quits and it's timing chain skipped a couple teeth.

Stupid cars... But, it was the same with the rover as you guys. As I pulled over, I just said to the kids in the car with me. Ahh boy here we go again, and laughed. After you do a certain amount of work on the car I think you just lose all your anger towards them and just figure that's how they are supposed to run. :P

We were all young once and made some dopey mistakes, hell..some of us still are dopey!
Perhaps instead of writing rude responses you could take the time to help these people and educate them.

Everybody starts somewhere. Some people eventually figure out things like hoods, headgaskets, and even Spell Check. There's no reason to push them into an 'Idots' forum till they figure it out.
