Default I am "The One" and I am joining Rennlist!

No, I'm not having delusions of grandeur and thinking that I am Neo or Jet Li, but I am the one who is the proud new owner of the dream machine created by Ian. Ian and I have talked extensively, and believe it or not, most of our conversations have been about all things Porsche, not just this lovely redhead that kept me up nights until I decided to buy her. He is definitely as Porsche crazy as I am, if not more so, and it has been great getting to know him! I want to say that Ian is a class act, and that I am as happy about our growing friendship as I am about that wonderful machine that he has put his heart and soul into for so long. A special thanks goes out to Mike Murcia, who kindly gave me some excellent advice before I approached Ian about buying his turbo.

I am fairly new to this board, having begun posting May 14th, and I have learned so much already. Rennlist is THE best destination online for the Porsche enthusiast, hands down! I only wish I would have started visiting this forum when I bought my first two Porsches in 1999. Because I have found the Rennlist community to be such a wonderful place, I have decided to join. What is $18.00 in comparison to the priceless information and camaraderie that is to be found here at Rennlist?

I want to say that I have so much more to learn. I have only recently begun doing my own wrenching, so take it easy on me guys if I ask a question that seems quite elementary. With the support of Ian, Mike, and the rest of you guys, I'm sure that I'll be a Master Porsche Mechanic in no time. Yeah, right! But hey, here's to starting the journey towards that end!

Actually, I sold the 968 to my father recently. I only got to own it for two weeks, in fact. You see, my father liked it so much that he basically threatened to disown me if I didn't sell it to him. It wasn't that bad; but seriously, he liked it so much that I had to let him have my new toy for the same amount I paid. I didn't even charge him a finder's fee. Of course, if I would have kept it, it would have been more difficult to have bought the dream machine from Ian.

Also, I don't actually have the dream machine just yet. I'll be picking it up in a couple weeks. Oh, I can't wait!

PM me and we can see if we can arrange for a time that you can pick them up. Joking aside, thanks, Rock. In all honesty, I feel very blessed to have these machines. Sometimes people tell me I should sell off the waterpumpers and buy a nice 993. My answer to that is this: I get to have 3x the fun (not at the same time, of course), and I have a very special place in my heart for the 44-line. I might also add that I think the 993 is the most beautiful 911 ever made, and that one day I would love to own one. Just not at the expense of being 951-less...

With all those Porsches you're aquiring you may need to hire someone to 'exercise' them everyday. Where do I apply for the position?

Congrats to both you and Ian!

Congrats. I'll be moving up to Decatur latter this summer. I'd love to get a glimps of your fleet. Maybe a N AL GTG would be in order.

NeedPorscheSpeed, Congrats on both the car and becoming a member. Your enthusiasm about the marque will fit perfectly with this community. Rennlist has just gained a true 944 fanatic as a member, and with your passion about these cars, I doubt it will take you long to get comfortable wrenching on them. You've got quite a fleet of fine fourty fours!
