Default Front wheel hub/spacer thickness?

What is the stock front wheel hub (spacer) thickness on an '86 turbo? I'm pretty sure what's on mine is thicker than stock. Thanks.

Hey Brian,
There are no front wheel spacers on a stock 86 951 (or rear wheel for that matter). The front wheel hub "looks" like a spacer - but it's not. The early 944 series cars had a stock 21mm spacer at the rear - but here again - no spacer at the front.

If you posted a picture of what you have, we could let you know what it looks like.

That's the hub you're looking at. It holds the bearings and everything else on the front suspension. The brake-rotor bolts onto it from the rear, as well as the wheel-studs, thus making it look like a spacer.

Right - the hub is what I'm interested in. This part received a new # for '87 & on so I'm curious if the thickness increased and if so, what thickness is stock for an '86 951? I'm asking because my tires appear to be pushed out further (closer to the fenders) than stock (I have phone dials) and I'm having trouble getting a good alignment (pulls slightly to one side). No part number is visible on the hub. There are spacers installed on the rear by a PO so maybe a different set of wheels were installed at one time. This also leads me to question the front hubs. Thanks for the replys.

There's no possible way an '87 hub will fit onto an '86 car. The spindle size is different so you'll need '87 spindles and '87 bearings in order to use an '87 hub. Which would also require '87 brake-rotors as well.

Does your brake-rotor fit over the hub from the ouside? Or does it bolt to the back of the hub from the inside?

Thanks for the info. The rotor bolts on the back of the hub from the inside.
