Default 924 Carrera GT Replica wanted for article

Hello,
I am a writer and photographer for Excellence Magazine and am looking for a very well done 924 Carrera GT replica to do a feature about. Preferably the car needs to be located in California (socal or norcal) Arizona, Colorado, or Texas as I operate out of NM. I am going to be in DC on the 18-24 also. If anyone out there knows about any, please let me know! Thanks for any help!

Stephen Kaspar at Imagine Auto built an *incredible* one a couple of years ago, it was extremely detailed and accurate, and used a lot of original parts that were specific to the 924 Carrera GT. I'd suggest you contact him directly at 913-310-9927 and talk with him. I am sure would be happy to share information and pictures with you, and can probably get you in touch with the current owner of the car, which resides in Wichita KS at the moment.

I still drool when I see that car.

Regards,

Zach, contact Don Istook in Fort Worth, he no longer has one but he can probably tell you where the real mccoy is as he used to own a real 924 CGT. Beyond that, there are actually a real one on Pelican, IIRC.

I figured if he was looking for a replica the real deal might be THAT MUCH BETTER. Get it?

Wow, I am really looking forward to an Excellence article with the car you are looking for soon!!! The 924 GT and GTS cars have been in the shadows for sometime. It'd be great to see some inside Excellence, accurate replicas or real ones...doesn't matter

I have an 87 that's got 7&8 x 16 Fuchs (white inserts), yellow adj Konis, Turbo S sway bars, 350lbs front springs, rear torsion bars also from a Turbo S, 4-pt welded cage, racing buckets,The tranny has been completly rebuilt (from a 84 944) with the longer 5th and has a 944 PH II torsen torque-bias LSD. The stereo is an Alpine with (XM) and has 6x9's in the rear inside removable boxes and the doors have 5x7's, the speakers are from Infinity. The amp powers it all and the entire rack is installed inside the pass rt rear well. All the body panels come from GT Racing and I'm curently involved updating and 951 w/ the wide body kit, also from GT Racing. I've had the car on the track at Daytona and Sebring and it handles like it's on a rail. This car was built by Gary Stratton of Stratton Motorsports in Winter Park Florida and this is the 11th or 12th one that he's built. Mostly he builds them as track cars but this one remains on the street with A/C. Gary's number is (407) 421-1911.

Not to be a pain, but please get back to some of the tech articles on 944's and 951's.

Could you please pass to the editers that we'd like to see something other than an old 911 compared to a new 911 as a feature article.... /rant

That said. I'd love to read your write-up once it publishes. Please let us know when that happens.

I have a GTR replica, though it is only 1/24th scale or so.

On topic - Check out the thread here: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...0&pagenumber=1

This is the one someone else mentioned

Off topic - I agree with others please get back to writing about the 924S/944/951/968. With my latest issue i guess i should not have been surprised to see that the 911 Coupe Won the Top Porsche Design by your experts. Perhaps next time you can include cars other than race cars and 911 variations( that includes the boxster). Perhaps, you could have an online poll of readers for us to vote for our favorite.

Honestly, i must say i was shocked to see the VW Bug in there. To see that car in there and nice Porsche's overlooked is a bit shocking.

I'll stop ranting now. However this comes across i do suscribe to, and still enjoy your magazine!

Well, don't forget Erich, the first designs Dr. Porsche came up with were concepts he hoped to sell to VW. He hadn't intended to start a car company at that point. Including a Bug (which he designed) only makes sense.

I'll just agree with you and retract the bettle comment because you've given me so much great info on here! But how about all the 911 Derivatives that won?

Erich
