924 Carrera GT Replica wanted for article
#16
My comment was mostly tongue in cheek. I'm pretty tired of the one sided coverage and refuse to buy a subscription to Excellence until I get a better feeling that there will be more 924/44 etc coverage. I have to say the 911 series is what defines the mark, but look how many 924/44s were built and how enthusiastic the owners are. And for a a really good idea how popular that model series is, look how popular this area is on Rennlist.
Got to admit though, even Porsche treated the 914, 924 and 944 series as red headed stepchildren with only half hearted attempts to prove their worth on the racetrack.

If you want a real good article for Excellence, read this:
"The Ill Fated Rebuild" by Brian Perry
This is the cream of the crop in the 944 world and a helluva story.

I have a 924 Turbo GT replica if you are still looking. It is a very well done replica and I have pictures if you need to look. I plan on having the car in FT Worth for Parade Concour. If you plan on being there you can see it Sunday or Monday. The person that built it will also be down there. If you need anything else let me know. My cell number is 316-641-8227.

What's up with Excellence having no email addreses and no website? I never figured out why those dudes in Novato never bothered to get with the program. The rest of us the planet use electronic mail, but for Excellence we must use a stamp, an envelope, and a laser printer. Can't afford a host, can't afford some one to sift through the megabytes of customer and enthusiast email? Glad there's Rennlist, even though the signal-to-noise ratio isn't the same. Jeez...

Thanks
Thanks guys! I wasn't expecting to get such a response. I'll start sifting through the info and see if I find what I need. As for the criticisms of Excellence, I'm a lowly freelancer, not a staffer. Look for an article I did on a cool 968 Turbo conversion in the next few months. I'm always looking for more article ideas, and I think the mag is trying to address the lack of 944/968 stories. Thanks again!
