the scoops would definately need to work. you dont even want to start a form over function (ie. rice) debate....*shivers

maybe there is a location for the scoops that would benifit the N/A?
and I love the idea of a splitter!!

haha... of course we'd make it functional, but to rephrase my question, what function would it serve? cooling the engine bay is fine but not all components like to be cooled and we wouldn't want it to do more harm than good.

If you need a hood or a 968 (standard, not the RS one) bridge spoiler to make molds from, let me know...

I think that a 924 carrera style duct right over the brake booster would look cool!

What about a CV hood with louver style vents right above each strut tower back to the firewall, this would allow heat to escape and would work on all 944's

Stock hood does not weigh 80 lbs try 40lbs. I would think a CV hood would be 10lbs or less ?

nope thats a turbo engine. the NA has a different intake manifold and a bigger air box that sits ont he right side of the engine bay.

I think that this is the best place to R & D new products..
Just don't forget us Early 944 drivers..

I would like to see :
A 968 style wing..
A Carbon Fiber hood with any kind of vents
A inexpensive front valence that could withstand many encounters with curbs in parking spaces ( mine's lowered ). This would of course utillize the front bumper shocks, but not have the bumper exposed.. This would ensure a "workable" front safety cushion.

Side note, If I send you a blank for a dash front facia , can you make a CF one. I will be mounting a 8" touchscreen and I want it to look " Unmodified " as well as secure to thieves.
If so, what would be the material of choice for the master ??.

Any front splitter for the N/A would be great. I would also like to see a moderately priced CF hood and dash for the early cars.

That would be awesome too, mines been cracked for way too long.

Edit* Although I dont want one, im sure there would be a market for a bucket for headlights used in the Pop-up delete, as I dont think anyone makes one.

CF1 , I see that you are in the LA area.
I would be willing to be a test platform !!!!
Once I get another daily driver.

Oh, almost forgot ( I can see the flames already )
I would like some sort of light rear comjpartment that utilizes the area vacated by the rear seats and makes it usefull as well as pleasing to the eye, while still retaining the loss in weight from the rear seats. It would also have to have a lip to keep stuff from flying forward.... Just a thought. Making it from wood would be to heavy... ( LOL - wood-would )

Jacob,
First off welcome to the list, if your business dealings are as professional as your first post, I think you will make lots of friends here.

968 mirrors are always in high demand, these in carbon fiber or in fiberglass for cheaper then they can be aquired right now would be great. They fit all the 924s and 944s and 951s. Here is a picture of what they look like:

I think that if you made just a basic carbon fiber hood that was strong yet lightweight, that would be fantastic and then just offer different types of vents cut into it. The hood fits all the 924/944/951 line and so with one basic hood with several vent/hood scoop options you could make alot of people happy. You are correct that the picture you have above is a 951 engine bay, but the hood is the same for both NAs and Turbos. I for one would be interested in a CF hood without any vents.

I think that alot of people want to see a carbon fiber dash kit. These would fit all post 85.5 944s and all 951s. There are stick on panels available, but what I think the list wants is an actual replacement for the dash trim pieces made out of CF not just a cover up.

A carbon fiber door panel would also be a very nice upgrade. It would not have to have the same style as the stock ones as long as window switches and door handle could fit.

I second a vote on the 968 RS wing, that would be very popular, you also may want to consider making the regular 968 spoiler out of CF which would fit all 944/951s. Here is a picture,

Thats all I can think of for now. Good luck, and please keep us updated.

My suggestions would be:
-hood w/ exit vents for radiator/intercooler, maybe with a hood latch relocation or cotter pins (kind of like this, but not as big as we actually do have engines in the front)
-lots of interior stuff in CF
-968 turbo S/RS adj. wing, mirrors, sunroof, everything that has already been said

If this stuff can be made affordable (like less than $500 for the hood...) and you get some group buys together for this stuff, you may be able to pull a decent amount of business from this list...but be sure to sponsor rennlist first!

okay i think maybe some good looking rocker panels, i dont like the boxed ones......but i need something to cover up my dents underneathe. and also i think maybe (i dont know how hard it would be) some door handles in carbon fibre and the plastic internal pieces in carbon so they wont break..........maybe for the serious racers, dont the protptype classes and gt1 use carbon discs? oh and definitly a carbon strut tower brace like the 968 turbo rs.

My Wish List:

Dash replacement (Pre-1985.5... I haven't seen a non-cracked pre-85.5 dash yet!)

Back seat replacement (storage type thing, as one of the earlier posts suggested)

And the replacement hood would be great as well so long as it wasn't too "ricey"...

Looking forward to seeing what you can make!
