dash repair/replacement options??
as i am getting fussier about my 89 s2's appearance, i realize the plastic dash cover has to go... my question is, is there a repair service for
a slightly cracked dash or do i replace it with some i have seen for sale..
second part of question is it looks like a bit of a project to remove the dash,
what does it really involve? i have had the instrument cluster out for bulb
and reflector repair, and i think i will have it out again this winter for
white face upgrade... i guess at this time i could go all the way and remove
the dash for repair/ replacement??? ideas, comments appreciated!!
have fun!

Don't know of a repair service, but a local automotive upholstery shop 'should' be able to strip & recover it for you. You should price it out and see if it's cheaper to buy a good used one of ebay.
Dash removal isn't difficult but it is time consuming. There is an instruction manual available here on Rennlist, via this link:

Is the lower part of the dash removable?
I'm thinking of buying a crappy used dash and having it professionallt recovered.
I just don't know if I can swap the blue lower dash parts to the recovered dash. If I can then it won't matter what color used dash I get.

Funny you should post this. I was just now thinking about working on mine this weekend.
I've been talking about using flocking, that little "mouse fur" you see on the inside of jewelry boxes. It should result in a nice non-glare surface similar to what you find on some Ferraris. It won't be for everybody, but some may like it.
It'll probably take me a few days to get it all done right, but I'll post photos when I'm done.

It appears to be all one piece.
