Hey, I have a dilema, I thought that I could fit the 6x9 Blaupunkts in the front.. well it loks as though that aint happnin' ...
I want to put them in the back ( exposed or behind the panel )
I've seen all the posts about removing window etc... but one person said that if they are 6x9 then you just cut away, and put them in...
I'm sure that the whole will be large enough to get the stock speaker out..
Any tips or pictures of the install / final product ??
and YES, I did search..
Thanks again
Don

I put 6x9 Infinitys in the individual speaker boxes you see on ebay sometimes, and they sound great. Good bass response and don't take up much room in the corners of the hatch area.

Okay, heres mine.
Job's not perfect, but they are centered equally (contrary to what the pic looks like). I didn't do any specific boxes, just used the wells as a box. Sounds great!
6x9's in the front doors? Yeesh, have to be pretty thin 6x9's, mine are almost as thick as the door!

i fit a pair of 6x9 blaupunkts behind the rear panels. took quite a bit of cutting and even more patience, but i'm very happy i went to all the trouble of fitting the 6x9's for that little bit of bass which was lacking. you just can't listen to good rock without the drums.
just make sure you have the proper cutting tools and plenty of time to work with.
also, i recommend using a set 600hz bass blockers for the front 4x6's to clean up the sound.

I installed components in the front doors; a 4" mid range and a tweeter mounted on a flat metal strap just above the midrange so it can be angled towards the passengers. High frequencies are the only ones affected by direction. I rolled off at 1000hz.

I just did a search as I have 6 1/2's in one car and 6x9's in the other, I think this link will work, it's of the 6x9's I shoved in the front doors last winter as the original speakers were dissintergrated and needed replacing anyhow.

hope this helps

P.S. if the link doesn't work, do a '6x9's' search in the Canada forum. There is also a 6 1/2 one somewhere in the forum.
