Ha, fair. In your opinion, based on the symptoms and description I've listed, does it seem possible the valve itself could be the issue rather than wiring?

Gotcha, fingers crossed it's not the DME. Would be not great. Again, not thrilled the shop did this without my consent, hoping they're going to make right on it.

And when measuring the connector off, key on, got 12V at the harness.
Would also explain why it was running, albeit not well for a bit - maybe that spring is shot.

An update here:
mechanic ruled out every other option and then compared the ISV to another one off a 964 he had apart (same part) and discovered that while mine moves, it's not fully opening / closing meaning the valve is kaput.
