Would the Volvo 240 calipers be cheap, you could bolt them on and they work fine. Then you could take your time rebuilding yours and the put them back on and sell the Volvo calipers. Volvo 240 caliper on my 87 924S, easy rebuild, sand blasted and painted.

excellent...thank you for posting.
I had seen references to the Volvo 240 but hadn't been able to find a confirmation that the brake calipers would fit a 944.
My car is a 1989 2.7Lt Lux which i believe has the same spec as the S .
Saw this brand new 924S left rear brake caliper today on the bay and snapped it up for a song.
It doesn't have the hand brake fitment that my original 89 944 2.7L Lux has but I usually leave the car in first or reverse anyway and always avoid parking on slopes.
Hopefully it will only need to be on the car for a few days whilst I refurb the original caliper .

Huh? I have never seen a parking brake accommodation on a 944 caliper.
