Default Really REALLY bad weekend

Left the 944 in Pa while I was visiting friends, come back and it's not there. Ok, so I think I'll check the local towing companies even though it was in my yard. The first few have no idea about it. The next one said that they had brought a 944 in, but it was all red. I went down and looked at it but it defenitly wasn't mine. Then I got a breakthrough called up a towing company and they had it described the color combo and evewrything perfect. So I go down there thinking "well, maybe it got towed for parking it illegaly or something" Thinking for the best still, I walk around the place looking for it with no avail. Anywa, I go in and ask where it is, thinking I just have to pay for their tow and a day storage. They say it's in the back and show me where it is. Some idiot stole my car and smashed into a tree and left, no witnesses ever saw them leave or anything. The front end is all messed up, insurance company will defenitly total it. I'm screwed pretty much.

And to make things even worse my sister comes to pick me up and go back to jersey and on the way home her car decided it was going to overheat whenever we did more than 45 mph..

I had a bad weekend, and need to find another 944 or 951 (preferably because I was in love with mine)

Sorry to hear about your loss.
Look at the bright side, an opportunity to upgrade to Turbo!

That sucks! last year some jerk backed into the front quarter of my car and ran, cost me $2000 to repair, i was talking to my dad about it and he was joking saying "you know what you do to those kind of people if you catch them... you tie them up and torture them." he said the same thing when someone keyed his 911. well, at least now maybe youll get a 951.

I defenitly will be tring to upgrade to a 951, I really want one. There was an 86 around me about a week ago for 4900, if it's not sold I'm going to at least leave a deposit on it now. It was in pretty good condition.

I'm hoping so, I'm going to try to get as much as I can out of them. If I got 5k for it I wouldn't even be as upset because I only paid 1200 for it and spent about 1200.

Too bad the thief didnt at least do us a favor and buy the farm when he wrecked it. Its the least he could have done considering he was a worthless piece of human flesh to begin with and has done his best to water down the gene pool.

I have absolutely no tolerance for thieves. Its a shame we even have to put locks on our cars and homes.

It is, I never had a car stolen from me before. I even used to leave the car unlocked.

Only takes a few minutes to pull the steering wheel off.

That sucks. Sorry to hear about that. I'm a bit paranoid myself. If my car is going to be parked somewhere for 24hours or more, even in my own garage, I undo the ground on the battery. Hopefully, if someone tries to steal it, they will try to start it and give up if it acts dead. I doubt they would want to take the time to troubleshoot it.

I've learned my lesson, next car isn't going to be left unlocked anywhere. Now I have to go through all this trouble and time to get everything settled and get money from the insurance company....How long do you think it will take pogressive to file the claim and all?

Sorry about your loss, I have the same feelings about thieves that UD has.

I was thinking about this too. Wouldn't a good quick way to safeguard your car be to remove the DME relay? You could just put it in your pocket and walk away. I doubt thieves carry around a spare like we do.
