Default need some honest opinions

most of you know the story on bro's carjacked/wrecked 88 944, he's considering either parting out the car or just selling whole to someone, dads got 3 or 4 restos going and I'm knee deep in my 78 928 resto and neither of us truly have the time for another project, my questions are these
1 what can I expect to get back $ on average to tear it apart? the interior is in pretty good shape

2 how long is this going to take? we can tear the car apart pretty quick, but I'm wondering with all the 944s out there is this going to take a year to sell the parts?

3 would he be better off taking some quick cash and selling it to some guys I know who want to make it a track car?

thanks in advance

I've been parting my car off an on. Selling it as a unit will definitly be the way to go to get a chunk of cash fast. And it seems like you guys got your hands full already. You would make mor eparting it, though. Go with your gut! We can never have too many parts available to listers...

he drove the car about 15 miles to my place after the wreck and I pounded the fenders so the wheels are free, if you were local I'd say no problem, but I can't vouch for Chicago, I have 2 local track guys who say they'll give him 1k for it now, the car took a good hit to the drivers side, dad says frame appears straight, torsion support is broken in half (I have a replacement on the way and will install it), it's got 133k miles on the motor that's in it, can't verify it as he was told it's had a turbo replacement (he'll now consult me before his next Porsche purchase), interior is pretty bloody good, drivers seat has a tear on left edge and dash has requisite cracks but backseats, console, door panels are in great shape, I know for a fact that 1 of the drivers side rims is bent to hell and not completely sold on the front drivers rim (I have 2 replacements that I will consider including), it is leaking some oil I haven't gotten into it enough to figure it out yet, I'm including a pic so ya'll can see the body damage....

Then he was lied to. Again, as stated before in your last thread, that is not a turbo car. It's a 944, not a 951. Unless someone went to the trouble to downgrade it to the non-turbo front end, non-turbo brakes, and 15" wheels, but left the potent 951 motor and trans in it.

as I clearly stated I don't know 944s that well, he bought the car without consulting dad or myself, I had the opportunity to view both turbo and non-turbo 944s the other nite at our local PCA mtg and I personally think it isn't a turbo, I'm only stating what I was told and no more other than my personal experience, we went for a ride down US1 2 days before and he kept up with my 928 pretty well, he has decided he's going to part the car and I'm just asking for help/advice since my 944 knowledge is minimal

it has 15" phone dials all around, missing a cap, I would consider the drivers side rims dead if it was me, I do however have a set of 15" phone dials in great shape with tires that are so so that I got to replace his that I'm willing to let go cheap,

Hey, I wasn't being mean, just trying to give you my opinion. I also think that car is not bad enough to warrant parting it out. I say fix it (easy to do) or sell it whole to someone that will put it back together.
