Default PartWerks Chicago

Against ALL logic, I bought from Partwerks, Chicago on ebay the other day. But being a yankee from Chicago...Sometimes were taken the wrong way LOL I read all the info and searches on the place. You have all voiced opinions good and bad..but the bad greatly out ways the good for a business to operate well.

I just wanted to post a response email I sent to them after I ordered. I will post their response.

I just ordered and immediately paid (paypal) for this item:
Porsche 944 Inner shift boot (Item number #2480732715)

*I noticed a lot of Ebay negative feedback.
*I have read some bad "chatter" about your business on Rennlist.com (A Porsche chat website)
*Even received a separate email after I purchased from one of your past unhappy customers.

To be honest...I am scared that I won't hear anything from you, and that I wont get or have my item shipped in a timely manner.

You got my order and paypal..correct?????
You are shipping the item right out..correct????

Please verify via: email (chiefcoble@hotmail.com) or by replying to this message.

Thank You,

Ken Coble (ebetty0)

Just wanted to let you guys know...I hope they reference this site and get a good idea how important "Word Of Mouth" is for good business....
Way to many flags and signals telling someone not to take the chance with this place...It takes a lot of work and time to recover from such a reputation...They say your only as good as your last sale!

Thanks for the info, I just looked at some of their stuff on e-bay last night and debated about buying it. This post made my decision easier, and saved me some money.

I saw something on ebay, and I just called them up, ordered it, got it quickly. I had heard the bad rumors, but they were the only people who had the part I needed in stock and quick/cheap.

I order a sunroof bracket thingy from them, I got it in a week, sure they charged me 4.30 for shipping a part that weighs less than an ounce and is less than 2 inches. But it came in good condition and very decent shipping. But this was my first transaction with them, next time it might be something worth more. It seems the higher the price the longer it takes to ship, if it gets there, whether its a small item or large.

I remember when I needed exhaust manifold gaskets in a bad way. They actually made a special trip to the post office so they could get them to me overnight. Granted this was probably two years ago. I've seen some recent comments so maybe they have grown or something. I am having them located some used sheet metal for my 993 now since I have had no luck here or on Pelican, PartsHeaven etc... Of course, one must shop around, but I still call them when looking for something used.

UPDATE:

I received and email from Partwerks that reads:

We have received your payment. We ship twice a week so this should have shipped out today. I wont have the paperwork from the shipping building untill Fri as they bring it over once a week. If you do not have it by Fridays mail let me know. With the amount of auctions we run we cannot please everyone. A perfect example a guy just won 8 auctions 2 we lost the paperwork and we deserved the bad feedback, all the others were delivered within 7 days of the close of auction. He left bad feedback on all of them. A man in Europe claims he did not get his item but we shipped 2 days after the close of the auction he didn't pay for insurance and gave us a bad feedback, what do we do? I have had another guy who had bought 3 items non of them ours sending emails about how we stole his $15.00 yet he has never bid or won anything from us. We have had items double list with andale and did not catch it on a few auctions, we returned their money and they left us bad feedback half deserved but could have at least acknowledged that we refunded the payment. I could go on but you get the idea. You cannot make everyone happy but we do try.

Pretty interesting isn't it?????

I think that's a stand-up email message, all gripes aside.

I won a Partwerks aution on 04/28/04, and paid immediately via Paypal. After 3 emails, 6 phone calls, and more excuses/lies than I can count, my part arrived yesterday. I was even promised two of the items as a consolation for my trouble, but that was a lie as well.

Next time I'll search Rennlist before I purchase from a new source.

I think their reply is a pretty generic email they send all the people with complaints.
