Angry Can't figure out how to get my hazard switch out??

Does anyone know what the trick is to pull the 3" X 3" plate in the dash to get to the back of the hazard switch?
I tried with a flat tip screw driver with a flat piece of metal to protect the dash and still couldn't pry it forward.

I want to check wiring continuity and power and ground on the hazard switch. The switch looks like it comes out of the back of the plastic plate, but prying the plate out I could get about 3/16s of an inch on one side.
I could not get the plate all the way out.

This is a 924 /944 dash I believe the whole switch surround comes out towards the driver

then the switch is released to the rear of that switch panel

Use a wide blade to gently pry the panel out
Before you do look up on EBay to buy a used switch panel so you can see what it looks like

Thanks, now that I know that it does come out forward, I was able to pop it out.

I appreciate the "wide blade" recommendation!!

there are little fingers on the backside that grab the dash material. if you reach up under the dash and grab the backside of the switch you will feel all 4 fingers on that bezel. pull them towards the center of the switch to release and rock the bezel out
