okay......in the computer in my room when I get on the internet (56k) everytime something says "car" it is underlined and its a link to some autotrader website. now it seems it has leaked over to this computer.
check it out...

be sure you update your spybot and I highly reccommend you use Adaware 6.0 in conjunction with Spybot in order to get rid of those sneaky registry files too.. Good Luck

What you're looking at is some kind of smart tags - something gaining more and more popularity. Think of it as a little script that scans through a Web page, finding certain words, and then associating them with stored links relating to that word.

What you have is some bug of sorts you "caught" that's doing the same thing, only on your local computer. One example I can think of now is http://comingsoon.net - a movie site. The green links are what I'm referring to here.

I just deleted all offline folders and files. history. cookies. reset websettings.
adaware 6.12something and spybot!!

So what have you installed lately? Look at add / remove programs and remove what you don't recognize, like things from Gator or places like that.
Do a web search for scumware. I wonder if it will highlight when it appears on your screen? Do you have the latest IE service pack and updates? That might help.

Go to Tools - Internet Options. On the general tab click settings, then click view objects, and look for stuff that looks funky. Right click and remove them.

Or just wipe the disk, load linux and mozilla.

I found a couple weird things like WEXTEC and go trid of thm but it still is there.

the only absolutely guaranteed way to get rid of all spyware/adware on ur computer is reformat. i just cleaned out my roommate's comp like half a year ago, he's pretty comp illiterate and has no idea what links to click on and what not to, so he gets all sorts of weird stuff. he had the same weird link things u have campeck, and an obscene amount of pop-ups. i cut his pop-ups down by maybe 1/3, and found some other spyware/adware stuff that i removed. within 1 month, it got so bad again that the computer was barely usable. so basically i just had to reformat it
