The Bully
Well, I figured it was time to start a build thread.
In May 2021 I purchased a non-running 1987 924s as a parts car for my '88 944 n/a. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it and started to dream about what I could do with it. I thought about doing a GTR, or maybe lightweight sleeper.
Then the house where I rented this garage was sold and my cars became outdoor cats. And in 2022 the motor went in the 944 so I did the only sane thing a transaxle guy would do....drove to Conneticut and purchased a 968 motor and 6spd from a nice rennlister. So my current status is two cars, three motors, and a pocket full of potential.

Buffalo? My first investment would be some insulation, then heat for that garage! Then you've got a great winter project. 968 drive train in that 924 would be a great sleeper!

I bought some Peltier coolers. I have a theory that with proper placement, these little coolers could lower the intake charge air below ambient. Maybe even waaaay below ambient. And if that turns out to be true, it could make more power in a N/A motor as well as a turbo motor. Of course sensors and ECU are needed so stay tuned.

Without forced induction you arent going to see any substantial gains by lowering intake air temp. Maybe a couple hp in an NA application.
Forced induction it will allow you to run a bit more timing which will create much larger gains

Because at wide open throttle you need to cool about 15 lbs of air a minute, and Peltier cells like that can barely keep a closed undercounter wine chiller cool. Also, where exactly were you planning to get the power to run the cells? They are notoriously inefficient.

The ones I bought get to freezing in about 30 seconds using 3 amps of 12volt power. A half hour later its at negative 50* fahrenheight. Why would a frozen stock intercooler not be able to cool that volume of air?

OK, I found a video and understand that the intercooler without turbo is indeed a major restriction. I also found a blog where a guy used peltier coolers to cool the water in a water to air intercooler and at the end it did work but needed larger heat sinks to wick away the heat faster. Maybe I will just put this test aside until I set up the turbo.

Time to get ready.
The six speed came in this box, Anyone familiar with Bill Rader Motorsports? It's got a stock LSD but I'm not sure if its Torsen or clutch style, how to tell?
I was told the trans had about 20 hours on it. Is that a lot?
