Yeah, I saw that one this morning.
Those guys are actually doing a good job of trying to help the guy and steer him in the right direction. Kudos to them for not running him off.
I really like this quote:
"nice call with the tach. It just randomly started working when i was out drifting in my yard. Must have been a bad ground."

I would hope that any new Porsche owner would receive the sort of helpful advice they gave this guy - no matter how big a knucklehead he may seem to be. He asked a serious bunch of questions and deserved serious answers.

I have an ex-ricer coworker who just bought a 77 911targa.
I got him into the local PCA and pointed him to Pelican for his 911 Q's.
He is no longer a rice boy. Yes, it is possible to turn them to the light side.

I never ment that in a bad way it was more of a coment on how this board has been lately, from the way I was reading it no1 is sitting him down and giving him the facts. He needs to hear the truth, and no1 has yet to coment on his turbo charger question. He seems pretty set in that he knows what he is doing even though people have corrected him on things.

Guy sounds like he has add, he's all over the place. He'd do better if he picked, say, his top three questions and got them dealt with, than opened a new post.

You need newbie hazing on some of them IMHO, If they want to actually stick around and learn- great. If not, "A-B-C-ya later"
Its not like anyone gets pissy when someone comes in with an intelligent first post.

FWIW, one of my first posts on "Porschelist" {RIP} was "What does NA mean, anyway?" Hazing builds character, or, psychopaths - try guessing what it did to me... muhahahaha

Skip,
I sit here laughing actually remembering that post. At that time, I was a veteran (you know, on the list for over a year, thinking I knew everything) and figured I wouldn't respond b/c I wouldn't be able to contain my frustration with such a simple question. Luckily, no one replied in a manner that drove you away. Take that as a lesson, everyone.
Remember the guy who posted asking what an intake manifold is? Now that guy got ripped.
