Yes, I have seen their stuff before and it's very nice. I used their linkages as some inspiration for the original design with the layshaft throttle linkage.

The thinking for using all NPT threads is that you can get NPT x metric hose barbs to get the correct sizes for the hoses.

I support your thoughts on all NPT fittings, seems that is the fitting of choice for all sensors

Default 924s

I have a 924s with the 8v 2.5. Are you selling these?

Not yet. I was originally hoping to offer them in late 2023, but at this point the earliest will be Q1 or Q2 of 2024.

Looks like a very cool project. I’ve been looking for a well designed intake for my 951. Although I’m planning on single throttle dbw setup. I was considering the ITB’s for a long time and still may change my mind if they are cost effective.

When running a big camshaft I think there would be a noticeable increase in lower end performance and spool up using ITB’s, likely another 500rpm of useable power band. As mentioned modern engines have vvti to circumvent these issues but the 951 8v is no modern engine.

Bringing this one back up. @JRP944 any updates? I recently exchanged emails with Lance Hayward and learned that he makes 8v ITB's and it got me thinking about this again. His is an open trumpet design, requiring a separate vacuum tree/manifold, and utilizing the factory fuel rail and injectors, with open trumpets.
Originally I liked the open trumpets direction, but ive mentally changed course since then. I suddenly think I'd like a stock fuel system, ability to use the stock TPS, and a closed plenum to simplify vacuum and keep the AOS system working as designed, as well as making air filtration a bit easier and this is the big one, in my mind I think it would be possible to run this through a MAF setup before the plenum and keep the software side of things pretty much OE. Someone tell me if that's the dumbest idea ever and I'm just being a cheap simpleton.
Scrolling back through this thread it looks like JRP's set up is almost exactly what I think I need.

Brief but productive for my purposes. It started with an inquiry into the suitability of his 951 manifold for NA use. That quickly turned to him sending pics of his NA 8v ITB setup. He said he has no expectations of selling many of them, he just wanted to spread the development costs of his 16v ITB's and 951 manifolds runner/flange over a broader product range.
I got the minimum info I wanted and then quit bugging him, I always feel bad asking a bunch of questions when I have little or no intention of purchasing in the near future

Thanks - does he have a 944? It's a pretty small market to develop products for, so I wonder what made him get into it. I'll definitely give him a call.

Just re read this thread top to bottom, and it pretty much makes my recent post redundant. JRP has already had and covered all the ideas I had that I thought were new and original. Like utilizing stock intake volume and fuel systems as well as keeping the AOS. I guess that's what happens when all the info is spread across a year and dozens of posts. Carry on then..

Project is still alive. Hoping to continue prototyping some components in the new year. Seems like there is still interest, so that's good. Stay tuned.

Are purchasable kits still planned for Q2 this year? Even if not, I'd be super excited if there are any cool updates to share.
