Question Rear Main Seal Replacement - Oil Drain Required?

I've searched for an answer but can't find one...

As title do I need to drain the engine oil before replacing the rear main seal? Is the normal oil level below or above the seal?

Thanks!

Most of the oil will be in the pan, I would think, but not all of it. Unless you have a good reason not to do it, I would really think you want to drain the oil when you do the work.

Good luck

The oil level is entirely below the rear main seal

Oil should be below the RMS. Just do not use a VR RMS.
