Talking My plan.. back on the road in 2 weeks.

if you have seen this you know the story..
https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hreadid=128160

heres how i set right now, and here is the plan of action:

parts ordered.. valve springs, guides, heavy duty viton top end seal and gasket kit, and all sorts of goodies from classic and speed parts. 1720cc hyperutectic (13% silicon) p&c kit from NLA limited (a 356 restoration parts shop in nevada), balanced within a 1/2 gram. (not copy cat nprs.. but certainly not shatas. havent heard much about em, but sounds good, and the few things i have heared have been good. if they kick *** ill let everyone know).

tomarrow checking out bretts exhaust off of his core 912 engine. he says its used but not junk.. if its better than mine im making an offer (and most likely it will be.. as you can see in my avitar, mines seen better days). before and after going to bretts, i will be painting sheet metal. i might take the heads to the shop too, so they get a jump on things before i get my springs and stuff in.

next monday, parts arive, tuesday drop em off at machine shop. next friday, pick everything up from machine shop. sat the 8th and sunday build the top end (tune up parts ordered before valve spring broke to be included) before thursday take to mechanic have carbs tuned. thursday the 13th leave for asheville, north carolina for the east coast 912 meet. its a good 500 mile drive there, so that will help break her in. get to asheville, do a tech session for the group.. tune up and oil change. enjoy the twisties as much as i can while being careful as she will still be breaking in (and hopefully not breaking again! )

it will be done.. oh yes.. it will be done ..mmmwwahhhhhhahaha...

I voted for #6.

If you do go thru with it and drive the car on a 1000mile (round) trip right after you rebuild the motor, bring a big piece of wood and keep knocking on it the whole way there and back.

Im with ya on this one. I have to get my corrado back on the road in 2 weeks. However, it is currently a shell:

Things to do:
-Finish pulling rear fenders and mold new front fenders
-Rewire interior
-Put interior back in, build false floor from front seats back
-Re wire engine compartment
-Install new master cylinder
-Install Big Brakes
-Fab and install new Brake Lines
-Drop motor back in(found out i have to pull to the head due to my own stupidity over the winter)
-Reinstall the rest of the crap.

I kno hoyou feel, so lets get to work. I have to be ready/broken in for a cruise on May 23rd, and if not, i HAVE to be at the SW Michigan GTG MAy 30th somewhere in michigan.
