Default VIN and build information

Is there a site to cross reference a vin with exactly which options a car had? I'd love to find out some details on my car...
Thanks,
Chuck

Nope. But, if you look underneath the carpet in the rear hatch area near the left taillight, you'll see a sticker that lists the option codes.

The only problem is that sticker under the rear carpet was printed about 20 years ago on a dot matrix printer. depending on how many times the area has been worked on you may no longer be able to read the codes. If you have the original owner's manuals there is a duplicate copy of the sticker in them.

Otherwise, you need to ask Porsche to look it up. I think they charge over $100 to do that but you apparently get some nice official looking pieces of paper.

If you call 1-800-PORSCHE and ask for customer service, give them your car's VIN number and they will look up the options it came with gratis. At least they did for me!

Out of curiousity, does anyone know where the date of manufacture is located on the car? I don't think that it's on this sticker, is it?

Build date (at least month/year) is on the sticker under the hood near the fusebox.

This is for U.S. cars only. Euro cars don't have this sticker.

On both Porsches I've purchased, 1-800-PORSCHE has told me the build date (mo/yr) and where the car was first sold.
