Question OT: PET -> pdf

PET only prints one page at a time, so making a pdf by printing to the driver takes foreever and a lot of work. Anyone know a way to print multiple pages, or know what viewer could be used for the images, or convert the data files. thanks

You could use a piece of software to make a macro that would go through the motions of printing, hitting the next page, printing, etc etc.

PET is the Porsche Dealer Parts Schematics program, it has all the part numbers of every single nut and bolt on every porsche. It's not something that is generally allowed to be discussed on Rennlist. Never ever ask someone for it on here, or offer it to anyone.

Don't want to get John D. in trouble!

Applescript can do it. Control VirtualPC and hit NextPage and Print... (kinda like the Recorder on Windows.311).

So this is like some bootleg copy of this that some people have a copy of or something?

What's the big deal? You can go to the dealer and ask them the part number.

Yeah, you could do that but the most people have the PET so they can ask the dealer for a part by part number instead of trying to describe the part you need. That way they can just pull it up the computer instead of some parts department flunkie trying to figure out what you need by your description.

I don't get it. My PET Pdfs are huge files that print by the chapter, not page by page. Are there 2 versions floating around?

must be, the version that dealers have is not a PDF at all, but an interactive program, it can do stuff like give short descriptions and highlight parts as you scroll through a list of them, it's not just diagrams. maybe you've got what bf95cab is looking to get from the program?

PET files are not in PDF format. The part numbers are in delimited text format while the graphics are imbeded in a propriatory format.

Once upon a time I had a nifty little program that would show you what graphics were imbeded in a file then let you extract them.

Oops, sorry. I was thinking of the workshop manuals. My PET is also a program.
