On my 1992 968, I am trying to compare PET to what is in the car and figure out the finishing touches for the a/c strut. In the section of PET 813-15 that I have highlighted in the red box, my car does not have the bushing (#52), but does have an M8 nut to secure the bolt (#50). If I put the bushing in, the bolt won't be long enough to engage enough threads of the nut. PET doesn't show any nut for this, is that correct, or is it just missing? Also, in the blue highlighted section, the M10x1.25x30 bolt (#48) goes through the strut and the washers and threads into the lower ear of the compressor, but there isn't any bolt remaining to put on the lock nut (#49). Is that just a PET error, or is something installed incorrectly on my car?
I'll go take a look at my car and let you know what I see.
ETA: I just went out and felt around where the tensioner connects to things and I can't feel any of the nuts that are shown in PET. It looks like I might have to break out the boroscope on the 968 because I am having a terrible time getting a good view of what's going on. If you think that the S2 is similar enough, that's up on jack stands right now and I can probably get you some proper pictures of what's happening on that car.
Cheers

all 944s ive seen have a stud/nut coming from the engine instead of bolt #52
ive never seen nut #49 on a 944 compressor; the compressor legs are threaded themselves.
If you don't have the bushing, you'll have a 10mm hole and an 8mm bolt...I lost my bushing and couldn't find the durn thing right then. So, I went to McMaster Carr and got a shoulder bolt, that has a 8mm shank and a 10mm shoulder...After all that, I (of course) found the bushing. I thought a stainless bolt would be a better deal, so I used that since it's exposed to undercarriage splash.
just a procedure suggestion. snug up but a quarter turn loose on bolts 50 and 48, adjust the belt tension (which is similar to the tension on the timing belt), lock the turnbuckle, tighten 50 and 48. the eyelets need to be in the same plane.

Thanks for all the replies! That was my thought but wanted confirmation. I will check my 87 944 to see what is there as well because PET shows them as equivalent for this.
