Default Track climate controls?

Hey I want to delete my big stupid climate control hump on the front of the car but it's still my daily, does anyone have any kind of simplified climate control setup? I'd really just like a variable speed fan and a defroster, if anyone knew a good way to set that up or if someone has done it before I would love some advice.

Neat! But I'm mostly thinking about like hotwiring like a pc fan in place of the current setup

Well I didn’t find my picture that I wanted but if you look for my build post you will see how I made an aluminum box for the defrost. I deleted ( upholstered over) all the pass side def vents. I hooked a brake cooling fan to the def box I made and put it really close to the firewall to pick up heat, yet have no penetrations in the firewall. You can see it in this pic I found.—— the build post is “ a racecar is born”.

Here's mine. It's the (vastly superior) AC fan (with AC deleted).

IMHO, if you are going to daily drive the car, you really need to maintain the factory heat and AC. Why AC? Well, as we all know, defrost, as in defog, really doesn't work very well without the AC component. It really boils down to a safety issue for your daily driving. Frankly, don't know where you live, but here in the south, having the AC blow on you, even with the windows down, probably could save your life if you are a weekend warrior track day guy. I see a lot of guys go with cool suits and the associated box of ice. Not sure the weight savings is there, unless freeing up every last hp is mission critical.

From a weight standpoint, I don't consider the AC system to be on the top of my list of things to tackle. If you rip out the entire AC system, including the condensor, you might take out what? 25#. If you are just interested in lightening up the car for track days, the tire/wheel package, battery, seats, spare tire, jack are low hanging fruit that won't result in your daily driving life being miserable.

lol love it...my “ variable speed” ac ...CFM is a direct drive right off the accelerator pedal... on the back stretch at Watkins it blows 135 mph air... lol...

If you fit a JE heated front windshield that would eliminate the need to use air for defrost, then I guess you don’t need such a large blower to simply feed fresh air into the cabin, especially if it’s only directed at the driver.

My directed at driver is for cooling only.. when it’s 120 inside the car that breeze feels awesome..,and it saves on ice for the coolshirt during a 90 min race... and with the prize money involved (zero) pretty much gonna pull it in if it rains not worth the risk.
