Been keeping an eye on 944 prices and yes they are steadily increasing but came across this on my local CL today, highest priced 944 I’ve seen. Doubt this guy gonna get the 40k tho.

Wow that is really nice, he said it is almost museum quality and if thats true then then the 40k maybe justified. I can't see anyone paying that though as its not a super rare 944 model. Even though 83 did have some nice manual options. Pretty interesting thought. He's basically asking for what the car would be almost new.

A 99.5-100 point car won’t have a yellowed expansion tank. It’s nice, it’s certainly not $40k nice.

Yeah, i noticed the yellow expansion tank as well ...
I can't see an 83 fetching that kind of money though !

Cheers

Sure it’s worth the asking price, it has all the desirable options (lsd, fuchs, Koni sports suspension, manual steering), and is in pristine condition with very low mileage. Its also a 944 first year 1982 build. However it’s a collectors car and the prices don’t follow or affect regular cars. If this sells for $40k won’t mean any of my cars will increase in price $1, different market.

It's got a pretty limited market. CL seems an odd place to try and find that market....

Ya, surprised that craigslist is the way this one is getting sold. You'd think bring-a-trailer would be the place to try to get max price on that one. This reminded me of a local 944 that is also on craigslist. I think this one is priced too high.

Or, presumably, an Alpine head unit.

It is nice, though.

he should list it in the PCA Panorama marketplace. Almost every car is overpriced in Pano
