Has anyone replaced the door on their 944? Any tips on getting it hung correctly? My son has a replacement door for his 84. Not a lot of adjustment with the hinges. it is hung but needs adjustment. Thanks

Take it to a local body shop and give them $20 cash. They do this all the time and will save you hours of messing about.

You might get more responses if you change the title to 944 DOOR Replacement Advice. As it is, it seems you're looking to replace your whole car, not just the door!

it is best to remove the seal and body catch when adjusting the hinges. if you have height issues at the rear jamb, making a shim might be required.
the hinges allow in-and-out but that's it. it's best to have the top hinge inboard somewhat to alleviate wind noise.
align the front fender from the top down after you are satisfied with striker/latch alignment.
