what's your oil pressure?

I have searched the archives, but not much luck. my oil pressure in the autocross today was at 1.5 bar at idle. Warning light never came on, but I still thought it was a little low.
Car is a 87 944S with 126k, full oil level (topped off before the event), and Mobil-1 semi-synthetic 10W-30 oil.
Does your oil pressure get better with fully synthetic oil? Or with a different weight? by the way, the ambient temp was around 65-75 degrees farenheit.

Why are you using such thin oil? Manual says use 15W-50 for that temp range. I use the Mobil 1 full synth 15w-50 and at operating temp I get 2+ bar at idle. I have 168K miles on original motor.

that's what i use during the winter when it's 30 degrees. maybe i should change to thicker oil during the warmer months

Mine is at around 2.5 to 3 used to be 2 before I rebuilt the cylinder head. I also use 15w50. It gets around that 2.5 when it's really hot out side over 80 to 100 here in Florida.

Mine usually sits at about 3 bar warm idle, maybe a little less if it's sitting in traffic and really hot out. Once above idle it goes to about 4 bar, and up a little more once you get into the higher rpms.

On initial startup, mine will read high - 4 to 5 bar, then drop as the engine warms up. Once everything is stabilized at operating temperature, idle is about 2 bar and operational RPM (about 3 grand) is about 3.5-4 bar.

my idle is at 4 bar at start up and then it will go from 2-3 bar once it is warmed up. it will sound like its about to stall sometimes too. does this mean somethings wrong with my oil pump?

86 Turbo-2.5-3.5 @ hot idle; 4.5-5 freeway-15w-50
83 N/A - 2-2.5 @ hot idle; 5 freeway - 10w-40
The low numbers represent idle after a very hard run. Stalled in traffic on a hot day will drop both cars 1/2 bar at idle. Warning light never an issue but I hate it when the 83 gets below 2.0; will change to 15w-50 next oil change for sure.

2 bar is alittle low for 20-50, unless you are on the track.
If you're doing some DE/autox, I would expect a lower oil pressure.
1.5 bar sounds a smidge low, but I wouldn't worry.
That's exactly why our oil pressures are so high for normal driving, because when on the track, and the oil temps get up, the oil pressure is still good.
Mine was down at 1 bar with 5W30 in for the winter months, and about 1.2bar with 10W30. I just filled it with 20W50, but I haven't let it warm up yet (still isn't fully running).
