Is this an euro 944 on ebay?
I was looking around http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2468932023 and this one looks somewhat interesting for $710 bid. It has the euro front bumper and no side marker lights in the front air dam. He mentioned ebay won't take the VIN maybe to the zzz designation in the VIN. Maybe someone here can pick it up and use it for something.....

Well if you look at the speedometer, the main numbers are MPH and secondary are KMH. I'm not sure but isn't it the other way aound on true euros? Also the rear bumper is US spec.

I'd wanna see it up close... the rear bumper is US spec, yet it has the euro sidemarkers all around...evidently the seller knows nothing about the car, so that would lead me to believe, taking into account the auction info, that it wasnt too well cared for.
Looks kinda rough for only 70k. I bet it will sell for cheap, with the no reserve and the euro bumper.

Not a big fan of an Automatic, but this should at the very least be a tempting parts car for someone -- Euro bumper, Fuchs, sports seats, Euro compression engine -- these alone should be worth $1K even in mediocore condition.

It looks like a euro car that was converted to US spec. Look at the indicators on the rear quarters. They are not the flushmount type found on US spec cars. They were added after the fact to comply with whatever standard was in place at the time.
If someone could get it for cheap, it would be good for parts. Also, the engine may be great to have as it will have higher compression and more HP than a US spec car...................

No side markers is one indication that it's NOT a Euro. Also, front bumper looks exactly as mine did, and is not the light weight plastic piece found on most Euros. It could be a non-Western Europe Euro... mine was a Suadi car, so maybe it's similar? That would explain the MPH rather than the KPH.

The car is probably a gray market Euro 944 imported to the U.S. at some point. However, I'm not sure that it has a Euro front bumper.
If you look closely and compare to the attached photo of an 83 Euro 944, you may notice the lack of "framing" around the blinkers, parking lights and bumperettes. Also, the Euro bumper is slightly tilted forward, whereas this bumper is vertical.
My guess is that this car was wrecked (notice that the hood doesn't line up well along the fender/nosepanel lines) and the expensive Euro bumper was replaced with a U.S. bumper using the Euro parts.

It's a Euro car, no doubt, but the bumper doesn't look right. Also, I don't see a repeater light on the left fender. Looks like it was replaced with a U.S. part?

It's one of those "in betweener" cars.
There were a few shipped to the middle east that were not quite US spec nor Euro spec. They had a funky front bumper, and no sidemarkers or fender repeaters.
I remember reading about it a few weeks ago.

So I guess that's not quite a Euro, but some weird RoW spec 944NA, then?
Browsing more ads in mobile.de I've seen a couple with similar bumpers to this auto, but the images weren't clear enough for me to tell.
