Default Save the S2 project - Apr 3 in Atl

Well - I talked to Albert and he has offered to help with this project. I will assemble the parts needed this week and next. We are shooting for the weekend of Apr 3, 4. If anyone else is interested, Brian?, Ahofman123?, Campeck? - I'll provide the lunch of your choice and be in your debt I've got lots of cleaning supplies - I would be glad to wash cars in return! Not saying anyone keeps a dirty car but it will be starting into pollen season then and no one can escape that.

I'm glad you decided to keep her in one piece. You have chosen wisely.

As for me I took my car out for a short blast tonight and that %$#@$#@ lower balance shaft is still leaking. I must have buggered the seal when I installed it. I'm not real happy right now.

Pencil me in for that help. Do you need any other supplies... I've got a tall floor jack, and 4 28" jack stands (I think, they might be 26") ~ I'll bring my tools too, just so there's no chance that we'll need 2 or 3 of something and not have it.

Bump this thread as a reminder about this time next week too... else I'll forget. :P

FWIW-There's an o-ring behind the lower balance shaft front housing. Don't forget that one!! I did. Luckily I don't have to disassemble very much to get at it and it shouldn't take more than an hour and a half.

That's OK, my driveway forgives you. At least it is clean mobile one that is being absorbed by kitty litter at the moment.............

Bugger... okay, my fiance just informed me that we have things to do on the 3rd/Saturday. So, if you need the jack/stands I can drop em off Friday evening and help finish up on Sunday. :\

I just found out that my brother is supposed to come visit that weekend. Nonetheless, I should be able to help out Saturday morning/afternoon.

I'm in.

I'm pretty well stocked in terms of automotive tools. I can bring my whole box if you need me to or just some items.

Just say what you need.

I'll also bring my laptop with the FSM and PET on it, just in case.

Got this quote from Kirk at Zims (very helpful!) - ordered the parts today and opted for the rebuilt water pump. Total comes to $315.95 before core charge. They ship the same day so they should be here by Wednesday or Thursday.

$100.00 Core charge - refunded upon receipt of your like, rebuildable unit

$332.95 Waterpump, new - special order, gasket is extra

$3.75 Waterpump gasket

$197.00 Belt and roller kit - includes cam belt, balance shaft belt, balance
shaft tensioner idler pulley, balance shaft belt idler pulley,
timing belt tensioner pulley, both timing belt idler
pulleys.

$39.00 Front engine seal kit - includes seals for cam, balance shafts, front
crankshaft, and all associated o-rings.
