Default If you don't want to cry tonight, don't look at this 944

About 2 years ago this car pulls into the lot of a nearby automotive repair shop. It looked a little beat up but I went inside to ask to buy it for a parts car. They said, "The owner's not selling, he's getting work done"
8 seasons later with the window open, this car could not be a more solumn sight.

If anyone has other pictures of beat up 944's maybe it will make me feel better. Kind of like playing the blues when down.

This car is located down the street from the Palisades mall (you know, the one with 4 floors, an ice rink, roller-coaster, carasel and merry-go-round)
in West Nyack, New York

Might be the kind of guy that uses the "Hey, I've got a Porsche" pick up line.

Thanks for making me smile Hacker-Pschorr, I thought that was pretty funny!

The odo says 89,450 but do you think that means 189,450!? I sure hope it does mean almost 200 thou miles. But if it doesn't this poor car's life was cut short... much shorter than WE know these cars can go.

On that point, what are some high mileages that you guys have?

I've got 128,000 on my odometer

If you put in 15k or more, overnight parts from Japan, you will have that thing running 9's.

There was no reason to park it with the windows down.

Even if the window was broken, repair the window, then let it sit, if you don't have enough money to fix it.

Sad.

That's truly sad. There should be a "944 Liberation League" that just buys up neglected 944s from unworthy owners. Compensate them fairly, then give these beauties the love they deserve. Heck, I thought MY P.O. was kind of a boob and let stuff go, but MAN, that car looks like it's gonna need a whole lotta lovin' to get it back to snuff.

I notice he has some nice bling bling on the hubs though - obviously can't pay to roll the windows up or vaccum it or put a cover on it, but can put chrome rims on it!

That's a freakin' crime.

BTW, I've got 175K and I have a friend with over 300K on his 944 and another friend around 295K. They'll run forever if you keep the windows shut.

let it die though.. theres so many 944's, i dont think we need to worry about dropping gmoney into that one to save it. may the value of our cars live and prosper
