Default Well, here's the replacement for my 951

I haven't been posting much (nothing to say, and there aren't any motorcycle threads right now... heh ), but I just picked up the replacement for the 951. Of course, the job in Alaska that we were shooting for is gone now, so we may not even move up there (meaning it may not have been necessary to sell the 951... how depressing is that?) ~ but that was something I learned the day after buying the truck so I'm stuck for the time being. Anyway, it's a '97 Toyota T100 4x4 SR5 with bucket seats (rare option). I picked it up for right arround market value, but it had records of FULL service/overhaul from back in November of 2003 (about $2k worth) so I'm actually ahead a little at this point. PPI came back cleaner than expected (lol, how often do you say that?) and this thing should easily run forever with basic maintenance. Doesn't quite have the cornering ability of the P-car though... oops, at least the fiance wasn't in the truck with me as I slung it around a couple corners.

I might have to look into a 968/S2 when we get settled (should it be somewhere with roads)... I don't want a nice clean stock example this next time - it'll be a beaten and abused car that I can tinker with. Hrm, SC 968.....

Nice truck Brian...Not as nice as the 951 but nice at any rate

It will come in handy hauling Porsche parts such as engines and transmissions.

Hmmm... If alaska falls through, may I suggest the San Fernando Valley area (LA/ bordering north of) as a consideration... city on one side, and awsome nature and scenery and ocean on the other. Also, some awsome roads. May I direct your attention to this old thread.... (It was a cloudy day, which is rarer here)

Finally found the truck. Looks good.

Don't feel too bad about selling the 951. Didn't you say you prefered the S2 or 968? You can start looking for one of those.

Thanks guys.... yeah the Trucks nice, but it's no Kalahari 951 w/ fuchs. I was never really happy with the performance of the Turbo (I like to start quicker than it'd allow) so maybe the S2/968 3L will be the answer.

As for Cali.... no only no, but hell no. There no way I could live in that state with all the rules and regulations. And that's not even mentioning the people (the vast majority of folks from there represent the worst of the worst human beings I've delt with). I don't know why that is, but I just know that I could never live there. Nothing personal, it just takes a different kind of person.... I like the enviroment of North CA (scenery, mountains, temperatures, etc). Anyway, we're looking NM, WY, MT, and ID... somewhere unpopulated and in the mountains.

That's a sweet looking car Luke.

Nice looking truck Brian. Funny you should mention motorcycles though, as I was just about to pm you to see if you would interested in looking over the nighthawk. It seems to be running well, but I wouldn't mind paying you a couple dollars to look over it to make sure that it is road worthy.
