Default Can I borrow some 17 inch wheels?

Ok I have an odd request for a rennlister.....

My car is going back on jackstands this weekend because well the wheels I had three sets of wheels for sale, planning on keeping one of the sets of cup wheels, but both sets sold the same day so now i'm back to no wheels......

Anywho, I was wondering if a local rennlister would be so kind as to loan me a set of wheels so that I could get my car to the alighnment shop / muffler shop, and then lastly to the Charlotte Autofair. I'm working on finding a cheap set of 17's to buy, but this would at least get my car into the car show.

Late offset wheels that clear 996 TT calipers are the only requirements....

TIA....

If I were local I have a set of 996 wheels you could use, but I am sure someone closer will step up.

If it helps they don't have to have tires, I have a set of R compounds I could mount up for the very limited miles I would have to drive....

Thanks for the offer david, hopefully someone with in a shorter drive will come up with something, I will not be picky...

My S2 is about to be up on blocks for a week or two while I put in one of Dave Miller's aluminum torque tubes and do some other tweaks - my 17" Boxster type twists should work for you. Only caveats - I will be gone for a week on business before I can pull them, and you've gotta pick them up (at least from King, where Dave lives).

Oh, of course, one more caveat - you scratch em, you bought em...

PM me to get my phone number to discuss as needed.

Regards Al

well it looks like i'm not going to need them, I picked up a set of boxster S 17's that will have to do for now, sure they are not my favorite OEM wheel, but the price was right.

thanks Al for the offer, if there is anything I have that you need to borrow let me know....

I have one, and it has worked out great.

the only thing I don't like about it is having to have a custom exhaust hanger made because the factory one won't fit around the tube (bigger OD), but thats a minor issue.

other than that is has been perfect.

Thats pretty cool. Does the decrease in weight make a big difference?

Its lighter but its not going to make the car feel a lot faster, even when I took the factory seats out and went with lightweight buckets I did not feel a seat of the pants difference.

This is a part for a serious racer, or someone who's torque tube went bad (happens) and needs a very good replacement....
