Default My first impressions of my 951

Picked up my 86 944 Turbo yesterday, got it imported (less painful than I was expecting) and I drove it 130 miles from Seattle to home, then after work I spent like 3.5 hours going around in empty parking lots at 3AM learning to drive it This is the first time ive driven manual for more than 5 minutes, first time in traffic driving manual, first time driving a turbocharged car, first RWD CAR, (second counting my dads truck...) and well.... My first own car

General impressions... This car exceeds EVERYTHING I had been expecting about it, and it meets or exceeds everything I was looking for in a car Ive had a smile stuck on my face all day!

Ill post more in a while, ive been up for 23.5 hours now...

Congratulations! Enjoy the car and don't forget to stay up to date with maintenance. Make sure you know for a fact when the timing belts were last replaced. Otherwise have a lot of fun these cars are a blast to drive

Hey Rich, I owe a good many beers for telling me to wait to get a Turbo Thanks man!

Timing and balance belts were done less than a week ago at the dealers shop. The previous ones had been going for 56k miles

Heres some that my dad took, originals are 1.5MBs.

I was riding with Brian last night, that is one NICE car. The thing that surprised me was the clutch...? Do all 951's have a really nheavy and short clutch, or is this a non factory clutch replacement?

probably non factory, my clutch is quite a long throw, especially compared to my brothers stock impreza. Same with the shifter, long throw. They are quite heavy though, shifting takes muscle in these cars. But when shifting fast, it can be accomplished in a surpirsing amount of time, and very smoothly.
