Jay - not yet, but check with "Strosek Ultra" on the 928 side as he was the guy working on this and seeing about adapting a 40mm M-B lifter to work.

Essentially, no. The only exception is if you want to go with the above mentioned Lindsey Racing solid lifter conversion. That really isn't relevant as it's a race-oriented setup with a price to match. It's kinda odd the aftermarket never stepped in to offer a replacement, considering you should replace them as part of any good rebuild.

Not a bad price IMO.
Considering that's the cost of ~4 new OEM lifters.

Plenty of OEM cars have solid lifters (most Japanese do) but they certainly are easier to do lash adjustments than the OHC 944.
But as a procedure you only have to do once every 5-10 years it's not so bad - maybe check your lash at timing belt changes and plan to adjust as needed every other belt job.

Not bad for a track car, yes. But cost aside, the sort of cam profile something like this would have isn't going to work on a daily driven (and emissions tested) street car.

LR advertises this as being compatible with a stock cam.
On other cars I know there's a profile change when going to solid roller lifters, but that shouldn't affect the 944 buckets.
I might be missing something though.

Really? That's almost unheard of. I'm not an expert obviously, but what would be the point then? The main advantage of a solid tappet design is to take advantage of profiles that are not possible with a hydraulic design. That's what I recall anyway...from some 30 years ago when I followed performance stuff more.

Hey, just wondering how your lifters held up. I just bought the same lifter for my 968 and they don't quite fit but they look like they should. There was some discussion below about if the grove in the lifter would cause a problem with the oil getting into it and functioning properly, so I'm real curious as to your experience with them now that you have been running them.

I have been told that the VW/Audi lifter can be used as a replacement in the 944/968. Anyone have any info to share on this part swap ?? Im probably putting in a set of used cams and thought I should replace the lifters with the used cams.
I just bought a set and my son said they don't exactly fit. haven't been home to look at it myself but will update when I get there and look at it myself.
