Chris, you obviously know who built the two cars left that I put up, should I give em up?

Who built the orange car, Koenigsegg?

Here are a couple more hints, and they are big hints, so all you have to do now is guess the builder. The models are GT-Coupé and D (for the red roadster). The coupé has a Corvair motor and the roadster came with either a VW or Porsche 4 banger (same difference in 1958)
I am about to give up. I can not think of the builder. My plan was to do a little research over the weekend and come up with the answer. However, strong winds took down a tree near my house and knocked power and phone out. Electricity was restored reasonably quick but phone (and internet access) was not available until late yesterday.

Anyway, I had already deduced the engines since you gave enough clues on that. Corvair being the only American boxer engine I can think of (the helicopter engine in the Tucker did not appear to be a possibilty).

I am fairly sure I have seen the little roadster on the coverage of the Monterey Historic races. My quick search there did not reveal anything to speak of. If you post the answer anytime now - it will be fine. I'll keep searching as time permits.

This has been fun! Thanks to all for playing along.

Here is another hint, look at my answer on the previous page for the little blue racecar RacingPorsche put up (the second answer, not the first where I called it a scarab) and do a search on that car.

And yeah, you probably saw the D at the Historics as they were raced as well as driven on the street.

Yep. Very neat little cars. One of my favorites from that era.
