It's a prototype 951 which was on display at the Porsche museum, so I guess the rack is custom made.

The car was used for hot weather testing in somewhere remote (Africa I think), anyway somewhere where high-performance tires aren't easy to come by, hence the need to carry 2 spares.

After that they did 100000 or so kilometers of high speed testing on the Autobahn, then it was retired to the factory collection.

This is all from memory but I thought it was pretty cool of Porsche to put a 944 on display in their museum

Oh BTW, I can't find the picture of it, but there was a 2001 996 cab in the DuPont Registry for sale that was a hot pink color, magenta, or somethin like that....never knew the Exclusive program even made cars for Mattel's Barbie....

Hey Jonas, thursday I'm going to Anthony's to get the 928 checked out, a fitting that they made and fabricated for a hose has vibrated loose so they have to drop the exhaust to stop the ATF from leaking all over the heat shield. Call me up if you wanna come....

Is that 993 purple? At a DE a couple years ago there was a 993 C4S
its looked purple and blue and black, depending on the light..and im ALMOST positive it was factory. It was gorgeous!

WoW. That purple along with the purple bricks and yellow around the car almost looks fake!!

Anyone see the "first and best" 968 article in Excellence? IIRC one was yellow and the other was a pastel blue

The roof rack is a factory accessory option. The PET will show the parts #s. I purchased one off an Ebay auction last year when SunCoast Porsche in Florida sold their last batch of 944 roof racks. I was lucky to get one for $75:
