Drifted the 944S. (long)
I was on my way to work. 5:30 AM, NO ONE on the streets at that time in Richmond. You can have a little extra fun while driving at such hours in town. I hadn't really driven the 944S for awhile as it has been in the shop after sitting for 5 months with electrical probs. The tires are just plain worn out in the rear.
So any way, there is the really fun off camber curve right before I get to work that has a steep hill leading up to it, it is a blast to take it at high speeds, it is rated at 15 I think, but I usually take it around 45-50 in the M3, it has traction control etc and better tires so it can take the turn at higher speeds if I wanted, but I don't want to kill the damn thing if I hit a loose spot.
So of course my Porsche outhandles the hell outta my M3, don't ask me, it is just WAY more neutral in the corners at high speed. SO I take the turn around 60. Tap the brakes as I am entering to set the car up and stay on the gas, the car is eating it up. This might as well be straight. I decide to give it a tiny bit more gas, bad move. (at first thought) THe rear end slowly and quite gracefully I might add, starts to come out, I instinctively stay on the gas and steer into the turn. The fear is out there, just another fet inches ahead, but I ignore it and find to my delight that I have complete control of the car and I am going around 55MPH SIDEWAYS!!! OH JOY!!!
I gave it a tiny bit more brought the rear out to so I would hit the apex correctly and the brought it right out of the slide and straightened her out. Blast throught the next light, hit the brakes and I'm stepping out to go into the restaurant. PUMPED!!!!
Please don't flame. I had to share this, I love my Porsche so damn much, I am into it for silly money at this point. I could have the baddest 951 in the world if I took all the money I have into my 944S and added it up. I really don't care though. I really love the car like it was a being. To me, she is a being, not a thing, not a car. No way could someone use such a pedestrian term like "car" when referiing to my Wednesday (her name), she is much, much more than that. The car handles so nice, looks so sweet and sounds like a dream, it isn't too fast at all, but she is my baby.

It would be an awesome story if he was a: doing it on the track, and b: had half decent tires on it.
When you say you steered into the turn, do you mean you steered into the skid? That's how you correct.

Stahl do I detect envy? Why do you have to start talking sh*t? I post in good faith and hnesty and I get quoted like I am BSing? Not cool man. That same type of crap is what makes alot of people not want to post on good boards like this. Enjoy your corolla.

It doesnt happen often but I have to agree with Peckster on this. We flame the hell out of young people who do this on the street all the time. It is not wise EVER on the street no matter how controlled you think the environment is.
Second, it is the slow way from hell, how often do you see guys in GT1 "drifting"? Never, scrubs too much speed.

Hye no problem. I was on the boards along time ago when AMAF was still posting so I considered your post reminding you of AMAF to be challenging my truthfulness. Thanks for being a stand up person and I apologise for responding so harshly.
