Hang in there. In July of 1991 - at the age of 35 - I was dead broke, driving a 15 year old POS Chevy van, and didn't have a dime to my name. I applied for financial aid, went back to school, studied hard, graduated with honors in 1995, and my net worth now is significant - both to myself and my bottom line. And the "myself" part of the net worth is without a doubt the most important. Money comes easily if you build the right foundation (pardon the pun)!

Here's my garage project in it's current stage....
I'm getting ready to set my roof trusses this Saturday.
Hopefully this snow will subside.
It's a detached 3 car garage ( a single & a double door ) with a 36 foot loft above it and three dormers looking out. I'll probably be finished with it sometime this summer.

Peter - that is one nice looking garage. Have fun with the trusses. We just finished stick building the roof on the house on our farm. That is a TON of work. I now wish I had gone with trusses - let my dad talk me out of it. That was 3 months worth of weekends down the drain. Most likely would have gone faster if I knew what I was doing!

Thanks Keith. This is my first time building something like this. The trusses allowed me to eliminate any supporting posts in the main garage. The only other way to do that was to use a lot of steel beams which would be very expensive and take a lot more time to do. I wanted one big open floorplan. Plus a get a hugh 36' loft above. I can't wait to get my 944 in there and out of all this snow we're getting today.
Setting my trusses this Saturday if the weather clears up.

Depends on the weather - I really want to make it out, but with the new house coming in August I've got to get the farm house project completed so my parents will have some place to move into. I begged off this weekend to finish up the construction details on the new house (brick, trim, stone, etc.) - so next weekend (if nice) will be a must. If it's nasty in Yoakum though, you can count me in. Code Red needs a good airing out (and I need a day off).

Well, we will hope to see you there, it appears it might be a going away party as well. If you cant make it then I will certainly understand. Good luck with the new houses.

Keith,
Congrats on the new casa
Just remember,,,don't go pulling up any wires you see sticking out of the ground in the yard....
Think about dropping a A/C & Heat duct into the garage. You can put a damper in the duct and shut it off when not in use.
I'm sure you'll run all kinds of cat 6 cables everywhere.......
