Pictures of a Saratoga top
Can anyone provide detailed pictures of a saratoga top for our cars? In particular the hardware points. Just curious as to how one would be able to mount the hardware such as the lift arm guides on the rear, the center piece that touches the microswitch and the two clips.
Would anyone be interested in the (small) chance of some glass custom fitted ones?

It's been tried, but it always seems to run out of steam. T4YT promises but nobody has reported a successful delivery.
Good Luck with it!!

My g/f's family owns a glass company. Getting the panels made i believe would not be difficult to do, the hardest i think is finding a way to keep it secured to the car!
Has anyone tried to use the mounting hardware from the regular styled panels?

You can see from the post above there were two different mounting styles: The earlier frame mount, and the later through mount. Since Porsche changed it, I'd imagine the later 'bolt through' proved to be a better design.

I happen to have one sitting in my living room -- just got a very used one on eBay recently. I haven't even installed it yet, b/c it needs new seals and general cleaning up. I took a few close-ups of the mechanisms. Relative to Dan's photos, my lifting mechanism looks different....
Center front:
One of the latches -- shown closed (turns 180deg when opened)
Looks like the lifting mechanism -- different from Dan's
Top side with the other side of the bolt and glass ratings:
Just hollar if you need more pics -- it's sitting right next to me for the moment.

I just got a MINT original saratoga roof.. literally like new. seals just fine, but creaks a LOT when closed. (totally quiet if cracked open a bit, though..)
They way it mounts is a little scary. It doesn't seem to be as solid a mount as the normal Porsche sunroof, but you can't manhandle it out by hand unless you unlock it properly.. so it shouldn't be a problem.

Problems
1) The glass is not flat to the best of knowledge
2) It should be tempered glass

Mine creaks a lot too, maybe putting some lube on the seals would fix that. Like you said, just a touch open and the creaking stops. Next time you get it up to 120+ with the 'toga on, glance up at the side seam (or have your excited passenger do it) I think you'll see a sizeable gap growing and daylight streaming in. Not the strongest structurally, but a nice touch if you can overlook that stuff.
