Default Shift Boots and *****

Wondering who has replaced the stock shift boot and/or **** (post 85.5) and what you used (i.e. Sparco, Momo, Generic, etc.) Any problems with fit and finish? Any pics?

I have a Boxster **** on my car, it fits right on except you need a new boot. Too bad I don't have any good pics of it

Speaking of which, ordered a new boot for mine (came w/o from PO) and it looks like he glued the insert in. Ruined it removing it, and now am not sure if I do have a late model shift ****, as I can't see any way for the leather to fit in between the insert and the ****. Also, the insert had 3 tabs to hold it onto the ****, and I broke 2 getting the darn thing off. Am going to be doing a search right now, but how do you tell the diff between an early and a late shift ****, and anyone have any hints or tricks to getting the leather to fit between the intsert and the ****. They literally fit tight already on my car.....

I like the boxster shifter. I was thinking of getting one myself.

What size is the stock 85.5-on shift ****?

I was considering the Boxster ****, but prices for a good used one seem to be in the new Momo range. I really like the Momo AirLeather Race ****. I do like the stock set-up too, even though it looks slightly phallic. I'm thinking of bringing some of that satin/brushed aluminum look into the car via new steering wheel, shift ****, pedals, sill plates, etc.

I was considering the same treatment that streckfu's951 has used with the painted mid-dash area. I want to keep it light and tasteful. I'll start with the ****, wheel, pedals thing first and see where it goes.

It's all a matter of taste, but the PO had installed a Momo shift **** and I just didn't like it -- just didn't feel right -- too small or something. I have since gone back to stock.

I know what you're saying, I had the Momo combat one streck'fu has and I used it mostly at an angle with the leather extention that makes it look cool .. and that made the insert eventually pop off. I glued it back on and sold it.
