So maybe is was a model year 82/3 thing...
What do the 924 boots look like?

my 81' 924 has one just like all the other early 944 ones..leather wrapped over the whole shifter

Why would some be different than others?
I know mine was stock

Here is my interior. it's what my 1987 924S came with stock.

is that what your shifter looks like?

By the way, the dice and tassle have since been removed, and I put the speaker covers back on the speakers. it looks much better now.

Someone else will say I'm crazy (and be right) but I believe this is true...

My boot has always been thinker leather with a detachable **** (threaded) that is very different from the others posted here both in this thread and previous threads. UNTIL I saw Micheals in Germany - which I promptly purchased from him; it was the same grade leather and same rubber shifter on top.

That's exactly what mine looks like. Mine is black. The boot and shift **** are in nearly perfect condition. The shift **** has some hairline cracks from the sun, but with some armor-all or oil from your hands, it's not noticeable.
