Default Anybody want to spend a day at the track??

I am pondering the idea of heading up (or helping head up) a one day track event this summer. It would be one day during the week (Monday thru Thursday) and cost about $150 to $175 per person. Of course this depends on if I can find 9 other people that want to go. These fiqures are for 10 people with 2 or 3 car on track at a time.

Here is the track info: TALLADEGA GRAN PRIX RACEWAY

Comments, ideas, interested parties???

I'd like to go... but that is too far to go without a truck and trailor. AAA would have my *** if they had to tow me home.

I'd be interested, but it would have to be in July.

Hmm what do you need to have to enter? Maybe I'll make it up there if I'm not in Europe or too busy? Any cheap hotels around?

It's not that bad of a drive Brian... and if Alex (and some other Atlanta guys) head over, you should be well covered.

And yes, there are PLENTY of cheap hotels in the area (I've slept at several...)

seb928s

I'm not sure if there are any requirements or not. I haven't got that far yet.

As for a date.....long enough from now to save up for new tires but not long enough from now to wear them out again. Like I said still in theinfant planning stages. I'm open for dates ....July sounds good to me.

If we can get a few more people interested, I'll start checking into things further.

Ok. Well looks like this went over better than I thought. Sounds like July is the best month thrown out there so far. According to the web site only the 10th, 11th and 18th are already booked. Is there a day of the week that would be better for everyone. I was thinking that a Monday would be good. What do you guys think?

I'll contact the track and see if there are any restrictions for car and drivers and what open dates that they have for July. I'll also see how many people it would take to make a weekend day about the same cost.

Is there anything that I haven't thought of??

Keep the ideas and comments coming.
