Talking Pics from my first DE (and more)

well this was last summer in the S2 at Roebling Road in Savannah, GA
best time of my life!
enjoy:

^^ultra-rare GT40 SPYDER

^^I proudly outran this super-fast WRX the whole weekend, he would almost get me when he hit boost on the front straight, but as soon as we went into the corners it was no contest

and these are some random pics of my dad at Road Atlanta

I'll be making a P-Caronline site for this S2 track car as well as the S2 cab when the weather gets nicer

Nice shots, man. It's so cool that a 15 year old car can humiliate a newer hot-box (the hottest of the hot-boxes, at that). LOVE the Road A pics, man. I used to crew for a superbike endurance team, and we'd do the GNF's at Road Atlanta every year. It's such a cool, scenic racetrack...

Oh hey, what's a GT40 Spyder?? Is this some sort of bastardization of the legendary racer? Or a kit car? Never heard or seen of one til now...

A spyder has no roof. The GT-40 does not meet that definition.

I am anew member so please be patient. Also a new 1987 951 owner if the weather will ever cooperate to get the car to upstate NY. I am posting to ask if Tarheal 944S will post some additional pictures of the interior of his car.
Thanks,
Jack

The owner of that GT40 lives in North Atlanta and has two trailers full of cars all of which he brought to Roebling that weekend, really nice guy, he was giving everyone rides in his cars (Bill Elliots watkins glen road car, carrera rsr, gt3 supercup car, etc.) But he told all of us that there really WAS a GT40 spyder - it may not truly be a spyder but in the pic it has like a T-top, only about 2 of these were made, he said.

K-Bit, welcome to rennlist! Which car do you need the interior pics of, my S, or my father's S2 track car that I posted pics of?

I've seen the "other" GT40 spyder at Road America It's white with blue stripes. If I remember correctly, they were made into spyders due to driver height issues.

One of the Gulf color cars has a helmet bubble instead.

Tarheal 944 -- I am looking for more interior pictures of the track car. The car we bought will be more for function than for looks -- so we are thinking of replacement seats and the Redline roll bar. I know here it comes "learn to drive the car first". The wife and I are in our 50's so will never be competitive but want to have some fun. You will learn freedom is " when the dog dies and the kids move out".
Thanks,
Jack
