Three Wheelin'
Sounds like you got a smoking deal! I would love to see some pics when you get around to it. Also i would agree that you should keep those PD's for a little while to make sure youre happy with the 18's.
Goodluck!

Yes - I got complete service records since the car was purchased new in 88. I did a ton of research before I bought the car - I was visiting sites like this one and just sort of getting a feel for what to look for and what to expect. I spent about three months looking and researching before I bought the car.

Sounds like a good deal. On the wheels, you did well, got RAPED on the shipping (it should have been more like 100 dollars) but considering how cheap you got them you did very well. Cant wait to see pics.

Matt H-
Raped is such a harsh word. Here's the story: This guy has money - he's not your typical eBayer. If you look at his feedback, the guy bought stuff like a $400 belt buckle. This was the first item(s) he sold. He didn't want to pick and ship himself, so he paid one of the Mailboxes Etc. joints to package and ship. I did the calculations, it would have been about $120 to ship via FedEx.
Remember, these are wheels and tires - they can get up there in the poundage dept. Anyway, the Mailboxes Etc joint wanted $60 per box for shipping - I wasn't going to argue. I added them up at Tire Rack - $1744 before shipping.

Starr- no complaint. I have sold at least 6 sets of wheels, it runs about 120 to anywhere in the cont. US with fedex ground if they have tires, without it runs between 14 and 25 dollars per wheel depending on size. I would say the 240 bucks in shipping for a 300 dollar item that you know can be shipped for 120 is raped. Then again, as I said, still a very good deal at 540.

You like that word "raped" don't you - just kidding!
I have no complaints! To be honest, I have sold hundreds of items on eBay (including wheels & tires, even my old MG) and I am very familiar with shipping rates and procedures. But considering the situation, I proabably would have paid the guy $300 to ship! All of the guys on eBay who really "rape" people on shipping must **** you off (I know they **** me off) - There's a guy selling just the Turbo Twist rims on eBay for $899 (think he's a dealer) - he wants $175 shipping - for just rims!!! That's rape of the **** nature I'd say!!!

Starr,
I may be interested in the PDs, but only once cash flow here has improved. Look me up if you come to sell them.
Also I'm sure you're aware of the issues with 18" wheels on a 944. Porsche actually issued a technical note about this. Sure that this has been covered 101 times on here, so a search would turn something up (updated caster blocks - if you're wondering what to search for).
And above all congratulations and welcome!
