Default Fracture of 944 Spring Plate

Here's a picture of the right spring plate (Porsche part # 477 511 202) from my '83 944. The car has about 210K California street miles. The fatigue fracture appears to have started from the center oval slot and propagated outward. Most of the fracture was old, and the final break occurred in a moderate left turn at about 35 mph. You might check yours... I replaced it with a used one.

Well, rats. I can't figure out to attach the picture, so I attached it as a file.

Yikes! Did it happen on the road? If so, what exactly happened?

Residential 4 lane intersection in traffic. Inside lane turning left against a kid in a muscle pick-up. It broke coming out of the turn. Lost the rear end and fishtailed down my lane under power for 50 meters. Thought I'd blown a tire. Limped home and had some Maker's Mark.

Wow, from the picture, it looks like if you bring the upper half of the crack together, the bottom half will NOT touch. UUUUUUUUh, that is wrong. Someone cut that, probably because they couldn't get any adjustment out of a rusted eccentric (and were not the brightest candle in the Church).

Thanks to all. When I installed the used spring plate, I think I was off one spline on the torsion bar, since the right side is sitting a bit lower than the left. Maybe I'll fix that one of these days...

Got the exact same problem on my 83' 944 turning left at 30km/h, found only one seller in France who got the parts ( 190€ ), the left one is 80 € cheaper so I'd like to compare the prices with another seller, where would you buy it ? ( Porsche have not this part)

@Ekaitza you could try contacting Justin ( @944UK ) as he sells 944 parts in Europe.
