Ian - the 21mm spacers we tried first WERE the factory spacers from the early 944s.

As I an said, they need marginal spacing on the rear to fit - that is, with 1.25 degrees negative camber, and reasonable lowering on the car.

I wouldn't run them without a 1/4" or 4-5mm spacer, trimming the single bolt that falls in the rim area, and rolling the inner fender lip. - oh and the stiffer the suspension the better, of course (I have 28mm Torsion bars).

I believe these wheels CAN be run successfully on the early offset rear, with attention paid to the above details. (I may even get a set in the future, when the get significantly cheaper...)

They are almost ideal for a late front suspension/early rear suspension car (like mine!)

And personally, I think they look even BETTER on the 964 Turbo. (They don't seem right with the 70's rubber wing on the 944, IMO)

I have always thought those wheels would look great and they really do.

Are they clearing well now? Any rubbing and how much have you driven with them on?

Ian and Kieth thanks for taking the time to test fit them and posting the pics - They look great!

I think they'll look even better on a red 951! And since I went ahead and rolled my rear fenders today I just have to get the spacers (and pay you!).
Thanks!!

Kieth -
I agree the wheels look awesome on the 965! As far as not matching with the rubber spoiler on the 951 I'm eventually going to replace that in favor of a 968 Turbo wing.

Unfortunately my tax returns don't go that far this year!

Oh yeah - anyone have a pair of 21mm spacers from an early car they want to get rid of???

Paul,

No problem at all, I can't wait to see them on your car.....

Also if you headed down this way to pick them (as opposed to shipping them) would it be possible to bring the fender roller, I really need to finish mine.... let me know...

Ian -

You stated that these will not not fit the late offset. Why?

Well that would be due to the offsets of these wheels. The fronts should fit a late offset car just fin 18x8 et 50 is a size that fits, but the backs are 18x11 et 45, it would have to be 18x11 et 55 or so to fit the back, and because of this the wheels are 1/2 and inch too far out and would not clear the fenders.......

Ahh - I see. I should have known the rears were 18x11 (i.e. 295 tires). Thanks.

The 11 inch wheel / 295 combo will fit under late and early cars just the same, its the offset that makes these particular wheels a problem on the later cars.

and Songzzz I would paint them black, but they are already sold, and they are in perfect shape and i couldn't bring myself to paint such perfect wheels.....
