Default Gas door for an 87 944S, was there a change?

I'm looking for a gas cap door for my 87 944S. Need it to complete this repainting so color is not an issue. However on Ebay some are 83-85.5, some are 83-89, and some are the later 968 models. Which one is right for a 944S (which has the standard 944 body)

Better yet, is there a vendor here I can just buy the darn thing from?

Need to get my car back before a Corrado G60 fills its parking space.....

Thanks!
Chris

Just check PET to get the right part number for your car then google it for new and used suppliers.

Btw the one for your 87 944S is part# 944-504-095-00 and is available new from Porsche for about $160 and there are plenty of used ones if you search.

Took me less than 2 minutes

I have to get a PET CD one of these days. Who sells them/where can it be found?

Meantime I ordered the part, this should *finally* get the car finished.

No need for a CD, Porsche has the PET for all their cars right on their website: Porsche PET

Thanks! Downloaded the PDF for the 944 and the 928. Now I know exactly what kind of screws I need.

the biggest difference is the material the fuel door was made of;

the Series one cars from '82 thru '85.1 were metal and the '85.2 onward was made of plastic

Ah ok. Wonder if the metal one is "better". Either way I should get the right thing and can get this car painting job done by end of May (my goal)
